Notification about the event in the year 2025!
Unfortunately, the event in this year can not be held on the same location as last year, in Pomjan, because of political interference and excessive prejudices. We already acquired new location, and we are still staying in Littoral region, only a bit higher. The location will be known soon, as in the moment we are in process of arranging all necessary permits for the event. More about the happenings in Pomjan are available on the link.
It is the year 2023, when the decision for the open-air event comes to conclusion, followed by acquiring the venue in Pomjan, where last years event was held. With acquiring the permits for the event, there was no problems and it all went as it should. Unfortunately, after this year’s event, this did not happen, as it came to complications and failure to issue the permit by the municipality Koper. With which we experienced a cold shower. If there were no problems with getting the permits last year, this is no longer the case.
After submitting the papers, the same as last year, we get a call from official from municipality Koper that they can not issue us the permit for the event for the desired time, if we do not get the positive opinion from local community Šmarje (where Pomjan belongs). As we did not need this opinion last year, we were interested what is different this year, and the answer was that the municipality and officials (them) need to be in good relationship with them due to political votes and that we need their permission. Although legally we do not need the permission from local community, but we just need to inform them about the event and we do not need to obtain their permission to get the permits for the event. As it shows, the elections must be around the corner, and politicians and their own agenda to gain votes immediately got involved in the whole matter, although event is not politically supported.
As we already sent the local community the notice about the event, we contacted them again with notification that we need their written permission about the event. We did not get any answer from them, so we called them several times, just to get empty promises that the matter will be resolved and will get back to us. After almost two months and mediation of the official from municipality, they decided to provide the answer, which is published below (in Slovenian, below is the English translation).
President informes all present about intention of organizing the public event under the name Enter the Sound on location Poljane hill, on Saturday, 23.8.2025 between 12. and 12. hours (24 hours). Organizer of the event: xxx. Municipality Koper and Local community asks residents for opinion and the impact assessment of this kind of event on the surroundings. Most of the residents agrees that, according to their experiences, that this kind of event is burdensome, and the event lasts for 24 hours, after the event the whole area is polluted, vomited, among the waste one can also find drug dispensing needles.
The answer or the opinion, which was not expected showed narrow-mindedness of people, who sit in the commission of local community Šmarje.
They did not even know about the event in the year 2024 that happened in Pomjan’s venue Poljane hill and any negative opinion about the event has no practical bases. In opinion its self, many false statements were provided, as we arranged everything needed for event to be safe. From security service that took care of the security of the visitors and that everything runs as it should. As well as health service in case any of the visitors needed attention. All participants (team, DJs and others) worked in direction that you, visitors, will have the best time and be relaxed. According to the police that visited us, loud music was not in any case the problem, which means that the event did not burden nobody. The evidence that everything was fictional is the statement about polluted environment and drug dispensing needles among the waste.
After the event, the team, without respite went and started with cleaning the entire venue, which means clearing the stage, clearing the fences, collecting waste and their separation, clearing the bar and everything that goes along. Including picking up cigarette butts, and there was plenty. A day later, namely on Monday, follows overview of the venue, immediate and wider surroundings for waste, which were in the end all cleared. After cleaning we, with own hands, took waste bags and take them to landfill, which was 10 minutes away by car, where there were further properly separated. Which means that nobody from commission members did not bother to check the venue and its surroundings after the event and statements are only myth of their narrow-mindedness.
At this opportunity we would like to let you know that after so many years of visiting and organizing events, we never saw a person that would use needles or that drug dispensing needles would lie anywhere around the venue. This kind of intentions we condemn in the strongest terms and if in any case we would see anyone use such practices, the person would be immediately removed from the venue. As that kind of people represent danger to all the participants.
As already mentioned, we already acquired the location for the same date, and at this moment we are procuring all needed papers and we hope that we can share the location with you soon. It is known location, where in the past, the same big events already happened, and that is why we think that this venue is the most suitable substitution. We are sorry for this situation, but we can not fight the politics and narrow-mindedness of people. We believe that we will have good time here as well, if not better than last year.
All, who already purchased their tickets, we urge you to wait for the news about new location and in case that location won’t suit you, we will refund you. Nevertheless, we hope that we see you all also at new location.
As information we add that during the event we were visited by the police several time, where only regular checks were carried out, as this was public event. Twice criminal police came to the event. We were visited by financial inspection, which checked if everything is in order. Later we got visit by health inspection, which gave us a reminder, as, despite that this was open air event, smoking can not be allowed around the bar, as it was closed by four walls. We informed the visitors upon their request that in this area smoking is not allowed and we put out the signs about this regulation. Strange thing, but this is the law. Police carried out an inspection of the security guards and found out that everything is in order. We got all the controls possible that are possible for the event like this, and only that we arranged everything prior the event as it must be, and also at the event its self, there was no basis that the event would not be completed.
